On March 14, 2022, Congress introduced Into the Light Maternal Mental Health and Substance Use Disorders Act of 2022 to reauthorize and fund existing programs to help those impacted by maternal mental health (MMH) conditions.  Into the Light includes two key provisions

  • Reauthorizing and expanding grants to states to create programs to address MMH.
  • Establishing and funding a dedicated national MMH hotline to provide 24/7 voice and text services.
