Highlights from MMHLA’s 2025 Virtual Advocacy Day and National Day of Action for Maternal Mental Health

We advocated for two federal maternal mental health programs

  • The National Maternal Mental Health Hotline: The Hotline (1-833-TLC-MAMA) provides 24/7 voice and text resources and support to moms and families.

  • The State Maternal Mental Health and Substance Use Disorders Program (also called Perinatal Psychiatry Access Programs): This program provides education, consultation, and resources to healthcare providers who support mothers.

Our deepest thanks to all of you

A huge thank you to everyone who rallied with us on April 2 — both on virtual Congressional meetings and via our online National Day of Action campaign. This movement continues to be fueled by dedicated, smart, and optimistic people like you who are working to create an America that mothers deserve, and we are so fortunate to do this work alongside you all.

By the Numbers: Virtual Maternal Mental Health Advocacy Day

This is our annual, virtual event where people from across the country rally via virtual meeting rooms to meet with their federal elected officials in support of maternal mental health programs.

  • 150+ Advocates participated

  • 34 States, Washington D.C., and Puerto Rico represented

  • 100+ Meetings with Congressional offices

By the Numbers: National Day of Action for Maternal Mental Health

This is our first-ever, one-day online advocacy campaign with the goal of getting 3,000 emails to federal elected officials in support of maternal mental health programs. We almost tripled our goal! We ended the day with 8,120 emails sent to federal elected officials.

Thank you to our partners

A huge thank you to our partners Postpartum Support International, MomsRising, and Chamber of Mothers for uplifting our Advocacy Day and Day of Action campaign. We could not have done this without your support.
