Congressional Briefing on Maternal Mental Health: Celebrating 10 Years of Successful Advocacy

On February 24, 2026, the Maternal Mental Health Leadership Alliance (MMHLA) hosted our annual Congressional Briefing inviting Congressional Members and staffers to learn about the latest information and policy priorities in maternal mental health.

We celebrated 10 years of advocacy efforts in the field, which has resulted in $125.5 million in federal funding for maternal mental health programs.

Capitol Hill Reception for Maternal Mental Health

On May 7, 2025, the Maternal Mental Health Leadership Alliance (MMHLA) held a reception on Capitol Hill to recognize the historic steps the federal government has taken to address maternal mental health — a leading causes of maternal mortality in the United States. Attendees learned more about this issue and connected with colleagues in this field.

Supporting the Maternal Mental Health of Military & Veteran Moms

On May 23, 2024, the Maternal Mental Health Leadership Alliance (MMHLA) hosted a Sip & Celebrate Reception on Capitol Hill in coordination with the Maternity Care Caucus to raise awareness about maternal mental health conditions among military and Veteran women and to highlight the policy work and initiatives to address this issue.

November 2023 • Sip & Celebrate Event

Sip and Celebrate for Maternal Mental Health on Capitol Hill

On November 30, 2023, MMHLA hosted a reception on Capitol Hill to celebrate steps the federal government has taken to address maternal mental health. Close to 100 attendees joined to celebrate federal maternal mental health programs, including the National Maternal Mental Health Hotline and state maternal mental health programs. There was also a presentation on a proposed pilot project to support the mental health of our nation’s military mothers.
