How We’re Showing Up for Maternal Mental Health: Our 2025 Impact and 2026 Plans

Looking Back at 2025…

Our small and mighty team at MMHLA accomplished so much!

We convened partners and collaborated across sectors to formulate solutions to support maternal mental health. We shared our expertise and knowledge by curating information to uplift the field of maternal mental health. And we developed a strategic framework to guide our work over the next three years.

We also remained steadfast in the face of the many challenges that came with a new Administration and new Congress, including cuts to programs that support mothers, children, and families, and the departure of many friends and colleagues from the federal government workforce.

Not only did we lead national advocacy efforts to ensure funding for maternal mental health programs but we also joined with others to advocate for important public health programs and policies.

Thank you to everyone who supported our work in 2025!

Looking Ahead to 2026...

Planning is already underway for our National Day of Action for Maternal Mental Health on March 10—save the date! We are organizing meetings with over 150 advocates and their elected officials and will be launching an email campaign to educate members of Congress about maternal mental health programs.

We will be expanding our work supporting our nation’s military mothers; publishing new fact sheets and hosting webinars on timely and important topics; and uplifting the work of others who focus on mothers and families.

We are excited to be welcoming six new Board members, sharing our recently-approved Strategic Framework, and partnering with others as we work to improve maternal mental health in the United States.

MMHLA is honored to lead policy advocacy efforts aimed at supporting the mental health of our nation’s mothers.
