MMHLA’s Technology Council: Meet the Companies Innovating in the Maternal Mental Health Field

The Technology Council is a forum for technology companies in the maternal mental health sector to partner with the Maternal Mental Health Leadership Alliance (MMHLA) in supporting education, awareness, and policy solutions that advance our shared mission to promote the mental health of mothers and childbearing people in the United States.

Through the Technology Council, we build partnerships and develop strategies to advance maternal mental health by strengthening the digital maternal mental health ecosystem. The Technology Council and MMHLA’s senior leadership team meet quarterly to exchange knowledge, insights, and expertise related to the field of maternal mental health, with a specific focus on digital mental health solutions.

Dionysus Healthcare is a molecular diagnostics company that uses epigenetic blood testing to predict postpartum depression risks early and enable precision-based maternal mental health interventions.

Recently, Dionysus Healthcare launched myLuma™, the first and only blood test to predict the risk of postpartum depression 10 weeks before the baby is born and before symptoms begin. Built on over 15 years of research at Johns Hopkins, myLuma™ is a routine blood test administered at 28 weeks of pregnancy that analyzes unique AI-powered biomarkers to assess the risk of postpartum depression or anxiety.

myLuma™ has been validated across over 600 patients with 87% accuracy. These early and accurate insights allow women to take charge of their mental health and create a 4th trimester care plan that allows them to take steps to prevent postpartum mental health conditions such as anxiety and depression.

Microsoft For Health Care has recently showcased Dionysus Healthcare. Also, Dionysus Healthcare’s Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Jennifer Payne, was featured on Katie Couric’s Substack.

Triplemoon is a fully virtual behavioral health team that plugs into pediatric and family medicine practices to lighten provider workloads and expand access for underserved children.

Currently operating in eight states across the U.S., Triplemoon is tackling a critical gap in family mental health care: of the 39 million children in America who need mental health support, only 20% actually receive it. This challenge primarily falls on primary care providers, who manage most of these cases on their own.

Founded in 2023 by Lauren Gage, Triplemoon partners with pediatric and primary care practices to provide wrap-around care through the collaborative care model with no upfront cost to practices and no disruption to how they operate. The pediatrician stays in the driver's seat.

The model addresses conditions including ADHD, anxiety, autism, and depression, with care widely covered by insurance, including Medicaid, giving families more timely, affordable access to the mental health support their children need.
