Congressional Briefing on Maternal Mental Health: Meeting the Moment, Strengthening the Federal Response
About this Event
The recent Lindsay Clancy trial has pushed the issue of maternal mental health onto the national stage, spotlighting various gaps in care and calling for action.
To meet this moment, the Maternal Mental Health Leadership Alliance is hosting an in-person briefing on Capitol Hill to provide information about two key federally-funded maternal mental health programs — the National Maternal Mental Health Hotline and the Maternal Mental Health and Substance Use Disorders Program — that are already building provider capacity and connecting mothers and families to the resources they need.
We invite you to join us as we share updates about these important programs and highlight opportunities to increase their capacity. This briefing is an opportunity to convene on this issue with a fresh perspective and newfound urgency, and to work together to ensure our nation’s leaders are taking action to support mothers impacted by maternal mental health conditions as well as the providers who care for them.
